I will be away!

I just want to let all of my followers know that we are moving, so I will be away for an unspecified amount of time. Those of you that follow the Inky Impressions blogs, Tanya J will be taking over my DT Coordinator duties.

Also, for those that have inquired, my daughter is fine. Whoop whoop! CT scan came back with nothing serious. Doc said she had a concussion from hitting her head. I am so relieved. She might be 18 but she is my baby none the less. ;) Thanks so much for your concern. It means so much to me.

OK take care and I will be "seeing" you. :o)

Thanks for giving a hoot!

Hey friends. I hope you are having a great week so far. It has been a long and frustrating one for me, but hopefully it will get better. Spanish and I are not getting along. It is the most difficult class I have ever taken. I study and study and I just can't wrap my brain around it. I am a perfectionist when it comes to my grades so it me that I can't "get it". To add to the frustration my oldest daughter has been having problems with her head hurting so the doctor referred  her to get a CT scan last Wednesday. We made her appointment only to find out that the insurance company required prior approval and needed more information from the referring doctor. The diagnostic center kept making her new appointments hoping to have approval each time. The referring doctor was not returning their calls so yesterday I called and threw around some of the words I have learned from going to school and got a return phone call with approval within an hour. Looks like school is already paying off. lol Anywho we finally got her in for the CT scan today. We do not have the results yet so please keep her in your thoughts/prayers. Her grandmother just passed away on January 21 due to lung cancer that had spread to her brain and bleed out and her stepsister recently found out she has a brain tumor so she is really nervous. Ok well enough of that let's get to something fun. :o)

For my card today I used this adorable owl and sentiment from Unity Stamp Co. Stamped with Tuxedo Black ink from Memento. I added some Inky Impressions pearls, ribbon from MFT, a flower from Whimsy Stamps, and a birdcage die from Cherry Lynn Designs. DP is from K&Company.

I am submitting this to the following challenges:

Loves Rubber Stamps: anything goes
Papertake Weekly: anything goes
The Squirrel & the Fox: something new (stamp)
Allsorts: let's get cute

Thank you all so much for stopping by. I appreciate your continued support.

I Don't Do Mornings!

Brrr, it is so cold here today. I think "Angie" here has the right idea; a warm housecoat and a cup of yummy coffee. Irish Cream for me, please! ;o) This is my second card for round two of the Kraftin' Kimmie guest designer challenge. I stamped Angie with Tuxedo Black, Memento ink and colored her with Copics. I added Diamond Glaze to the coffee and her barrettes. The paper was gifted to me. I hand cut a banner and stamped it with a sentiment from the Angie stamp set.

I used the small Fancy Flourish die from MFT. I then added tulle and a beautiful pink ribbon from my stash. I stamped the slippers from the Angie stamp set, colored them, added glitter glue to the pompoms, cut them out and attached them to the bow. The pearls are from Inky Impressions. The rhinestones are from Recollection.

Here is a close-up of Angie. I adore her hair.

Rain or Shine, I'll Be There

Hey friends. I hope you had a great week. I am so happy it is Friday. Time to take a break from school and have some fun! :o) Speaking of fun, a couple of weeks ago Kraftin' Kimmie was having a guest designer challenge. They were having two rounds.  During the first round they were picking the top 10. Well, guess what! I was chosen as part of the top ten. Whoop whoop!! I cannot tell you how excited I was/am. To see my name with all of those super talented ladies made me feel so proud. I could not believe my eyes when I seen my name. So it is now time for round two. We were challenged to use pink. They will narrow the top ten down to three to be guest designers. How awesome is that! Wish me luck! :o)

Here is my card for round two. I used an adorable Lulu stamp from the Lulu and Friends collection. I adore Lulu. She is just so sweet. I colored the image with Copics. I used paper from Recollections and MME. I added a doily from Wilton and a hand cut a banner which I stamped with one of the sentiment stamps from the Lulu and Friends collection, added a pearl heart and applied glitter glue to the edges. I then added some lace and pink rhinestones to the card.

After coloring the image I added small rhinestones to the umbrella and a mini silver bow to the handle.

I used the leafy flourish die from MFT. Tied a bow with this gorgeous pink ribbon from my stash. I added flowers and an Inky Impressions' heart charm.

I hope you will go check out all of the wonderful entries from the top 10. You will not be disappointed. While you are there be sure to check out the Frugal Friday Specials post. You can pick up some fabulous stamps this weekend at 25-50% off.

Birthday Tea

Hello friends. I hope you are doing well. Today I have a card that I made for the Besties, anything goes, challenge. I am in love with this line of images. They are so much fun to color. They are detailed without being difficult to color, which I love. For this card I used Teacup Tilly. I really like this color combination. The paper is from MME, the ribbon is from Paper Issues, and the pearls are from Inky Impressions. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday. I also used a doily from Wilton. I really need to get a doily die when I can as I love doilies. The buttons, lace, crocheted flower and brad are from my stash.

My Favorite Things Guest Designer Contest

It is time once again for the My Favorite Things guest designer contest. I just had to throw my hat in the ring once again. :o)  You can find all of the information on how you can play along for a chance to work with the amazing MFT design team and win over $200 in MFT products on the MFT forum. Here is the sketch for this month's contest. Isn't it fab!

I stamped the image from the  Cute is What I Do stamp set with Tuxedo Black, Memento ink, colored her with Copics, and paper pieced her adorable outfit using paper from Recollections and Bazzill. I masked off a portion of one of the sentiment stamps in the Cute is What I Do set to stamp "cute" on the tag. I added Grosgrain Bubblegum ribbon, and Razzle Berry buttons. I added a fancy flourish using the Fancy Flourish Die-namics.

I added pink pearls to her pigtails. I also added a pearl to the center of the small bow. I added a mint green rhinestone to the tag and pink rhinestones as an accent on the card. I layered a few plastic flower embellishments together to add to her shirt and finished the flower off with a drop of Pearl Ex. The lace is from my stash.

I am playing in the following challenges:
Crafting for all Seasons: buttons and bows
Simon Says Stamp: paper piecing

With Sympathy

Hey friends! I'm sorry I have not posted in a few days. It has been a sad couple of days around here. My ex mother-in-law passed away a couple days ago after a battle with cancer. Me and my ex-husband (and his family) get along very well.  Even though Sue, was technically my ex mother-in-law, in my heart she wasn't. I met her when I was 14 and we had some of the best times of my life together. Not only have I been dealing with my own grief,  I have been worried about my daughter, her dad, and her aunt. None of them have ever had to go through something like this before. My daughter's aunt is pregnant so I am especially worried about her. Please keep the family in your thoughts/prayers.

Here is a sympathy card I made. The beautiful paper is from K&Company. I used a Cherry Lynn birdcage die and MeiFlower pearl heart from My Crafty Heart, MFT leafy flourish die, mini rolled rose die, felt, and ribbon. I also used Inky Dinky Drops from Inky Impressions, a sentiment from PTI, and scalloped punches from Martha Stewart. The lace is from my stash.

I would like to play in the following challenges:
Fab 'n' Funky: favorite color combo (pink and green)
Papertake Weekly: add a bow
Created With Love: anything goes
Kaboodle Doodles : ribbon
Allsorts: flower power
Sugar Creek Hollow: tic tac toe (lace, ribbon, pearls)
613 Avenue Create: anything goes (twist: kraft paper)
Make it Monday with Kraft Outlet: use punches
Sweet Stamps : pearls and lace

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a beautiful week and remember to tell the ones you love that you love them.
